Mental Health Awareness Week 2011 is only a few weeks away so here's a little heads-up for you and your diaries.
MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK
Fiesta in the Park - Saturday 8 October, 10am to 4pm - Western Park, Ponsonby
Enjoy an outstanding line-up of bands, musicians, food stalls, circus performers, and other entertainment in a celebration of community, and promoting wellbeing and understanding. There will be an information tent within to promote services.
interpretations of text - opening Tuesday 11 October, 5pm - Toi Ora Gallery, 6 Putiki Street, Grey Lynn
Artist Tricia Hall has a solo exhibition at Toi Ora that will run from 11 October to 11 November. All are welcome at the opening on Tuesday.
2011 October Gig - Thursday 13 October, 8pm onwards - The Thirsty Dog, 469 Karangahape Road, Newton
A celebration of musicians and performers from the sector, and a great opportunity to enjoy the amazing talent who're amongst us.
BEYOND (AND BEFORE) MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK
Samoan Market Day - Thursday 22 September, 4pm-9pm - Grey Lynn Village
Toi Ora and CrossRoads Clubhouse will jointly hold a stall at the market day.
I for Invisible / I for Inclusion - Wednesday 26 October, 5pm - Artstation, 1 Ponsonby Road, Newton
Toi Ora's group exhibition for 2011 is an exhibition with a difference.
InterActing Festival 2011 - 28-30 October - Corbans Estate Arts Centre, Henderson
Toi Ora will have performances and artwork exhibited, as well as running three workshops each day of the festival. Look out for a collaboration between Toi Ora and CirQ Group.
