ART Venture 2012 spread the word!

ART Venture 2012 is open for

Expressions of Interest

Help us spread the word by telling your networks…

ART Venture, a unique acceleration programme for creative, entrepreneurial people and producers working in the arts and creative industries in Auckland, is on the lookout for candidates for its 2012 programme. Successful candidates will be awarded a place on the programme, worth $35,000, to be announced at the awards launch in early 2012.

ART Venture brings together the arts, business, education and investment communities to back creative, entrepreneurial practitioners and producers working in the Auckland region who are keen to contribute to Auckland’s arts, cultural and economic development.

The year-long programme provides start-up and experienced creative entrepreneurs with a flexible yet intensive action-learning environment that, through peer-to-peer support, specialist coaching, and customised content accelerates the creative, professional and enterprise development of each participant.

Now in its fourth year, ART Venture has firmly established itself as a vital and sought-after development programme for creative entrepreneurs. It draws practitioners from all disciplines of the arts, culture and creative sectors who are serious about growing their skills, projects and enterprises.

Fauna – cation! an exhibition by NZ Art Guild Member Helen Parsons

An exhibition of quirky and iconic paintings by acclaimed artist/author Helen Parsons will be on show in August at Terrace Downs Resort.

The very clever and extraordinary range of works from Helen, will open at Terrace Downs Resort on Friday 5th August 2011.

The title of the exhibition “Fauna-cation!”, was inspired by Helen’s love of wordplays and is typical of her work which is often parable-like with many messages, some obvious and some not obvious, with strong themes of preservation of New Zealand’s native Flora & Fauna.

Helen delivers her message in the form of bold and vibrant colours, often with a twist of humour added.

Helen is an award-winning, self-taught artist and resides in Clarks Beach, South/West of Auckland with her husband and four children.

She has an impressive biography as an artist and is the recipient of numerous national awards, including the KG Fraser Award for the most outstanding painting at the Royal Easter Show in 2005. Her works are very sought after and popular, as they resonate who we are as kiwis.

Helen has also been widely published in various magazines including a two-page article published about her art in Her Magazine in 2009, and a two page spread in Best of Artists, Worldwide Watermedia, vol II in the USA.

The exhibition opening night which includes meeting with the artist in person and a creative fine dining menu with an asian kiwi fusion; an event that is fast becoming a popular occasion for everyone.

The exhibition will be opened by Rachael Inch, Arts Director, on Friday 5th August at 6:30pm. The exhibition will be open to the public, until 01st September.

Terrace Downs offers a special menu and Accommodation package as part of the exhibition experience.
